The Lancashire accent has been voted as the UK’s funniest in a new survey.

Those with a Lanky accent, such as Peter Kay and Vernon Kay, were thought to be the funniest.

Meanwhile the Essex accent of Russell Brand was found to be the least likely to make people laugh.

UK accommodation specialist iknow-uk carried out the survey of more than 1,000 people to see if perceptions of regional accents affected where in the UK people look to book their holiday.
