Blackpool pharmacy teams up with Dyspraxia Foundation

A pharmacy in Blackpool has joined forces with the Dyspraxia Foundation to invite parents and individuals to take advantage of its special in-store surgery.

Lloydspharmacy on 110 Talbot Road, is holding the event on Thursday, October 2, in the afternoon.

A key representative from the national charity will be on hand to provide expert advice, information and support about dyspraxia, a common, yet often misdiagnosed condition that affects up to six per cent of the population, in the privacy of the pharmacy’s new consultation area.

Julie Robinson from Lloydspharmacy, said: “Our special drop-in surgery provides the ideal opportunity for members of the local community who may themselves be living with, or know of family members of friends, who are living with or showing symptoms of dyspraxia, to seek advice from an expert.”

Sometimes referred to as ‘clumsy child’ syndrome, developmental dyspraxia is an impairment of the organisation of movement, leading to problems with co-ordination and coping with simple tasks many of us take for granted.

The drop-in surgery will offer 15 minute appointments on a first come, first served basis.
