Plans for a statue of comedy Les Dawson will go before councillors next week.
If planning permission is granted, the 6ft piece will be unveiled at a ceremony in October close to St Annes Pier on the Promenade.
However, several nearby residents have objected to the plans for the £60,000 statue.
Among the complaints are that the statue would overlook adjacent flats, that it would become a target for vandals and that traffic congestion would be increased.
Fylde council’s development control committee will rule on the application next Wednesday.
