BLACKPOOL Zoo is the unlikely setting for a special event showcasing some of the leading performers from around the Fylde.

Do at the Zoo 2, on Saturday, August 9, will be headlined by Cosmo Disney and other bands taking part include The Empty Headed Heroes, up-and-coming singer-songwriter Clare Thorpe and The Blue Pig Orchestra, featuring members of The Neon Trees, The Deadbeats and The Electric Ladyboys.

All profits from the night will be donated to the Gorilla Organisation, formerly known as the Diane Fossey Gorilla Fund, and Amphibian Ark, a global campaign supported by zoos all over the world to save amphibians from extinction.

The evening starts at 7.30pm and there will be face painting and a licensed bar selling beers, soft drinks and burgers.

Tickets, available on the door are priced £5 for adults and children, £3.
