A DECISION on whether exhibitors at the Royal Lancashire Show will be refunded their entry fees will be made in the next week, according the show chairman.
Last weekend’s event at the Duke of Lancaster Park, Bilsborrow, Garstang, was called off due to heavy rain for the second year in a row.
On Friday a number of exhibitors had set up before it was cancelled.
Gordon Roberts, chairman of the RLAS, said: “Everything is under review at the moment regarding what we will do in terms of giving back entry fees.
“We want to make a decision as early as possible, but certainly within 14 days of the show.
“A ring road had gone in around the site made of chippings which stood up quite well.
"A lot of the land did as well but parts did not stand up as well as what we’d expected.
“You can’t do anything about the rain and if it makes it unsafe then peoples’ safety is paramount.”
