Budding BBQ’ers in Blackpool will enjoy a sizzling summer’s day when the UK National BBQ Association’s BBQ Bus visits the town on Thursday 24 July.

Fronted by top BBQ chef and Grillmaster Brian George and as part of National BBQ Week 2008, the bus will be stationed at the Morrisons store at Squires Gate Lane, to demonstrate the finest BBQ techniques and skills throughout the day until the early evening.

There will also be the opportunity to sample various Morrisons products, including boneless pork chops, scotch lamb kofta kebabs with fresh mint, Scottish and Cornish king scallops and mackerel fillets.

Morrisons butchers are trained in traditional craft skills and can prepare over 150 different cuts of meat, meaning customers are offered the freshest meat possible, bosses claim.

Barry Hancock, store general manager of Morrisons said: “Our butchers can give customers advice about cuts of meat and which ones are perfect for BBQing, plus which marinades complement different meats well.

"The BBQ bus is a great opportunity to taste some of our hand-prepared specialities.

“In addition to this, we now only stock 100 per cent British beef, pork, poultry and lamb, so our customers always know where their meat comes from.

“There is nothing better than rolling out the barbie on a fantastic summer’s day.

"Everyone is looking forward to the BBQ Bus coming down to the store to show our shoppers how to get the most out of their BBQ this summer.”
