Contractors have completed preliminary work on the next phase the new seafront in Cleveleys.
Foundations are now in place for phase four of the award winning development which will see the sea defences extended to the border with Blackpool at Anchorsholme.
Construction giants Balfour Beatty have laid anchoring columns which will enable above ground building to start.
David Preece from Balfour Beatty, said: "On the ground at the moment, people might not necessary be able to notice any great change.
"But works are going on and we're installing stone columns to strengthen some weak ground in the area so it can be built on.”
