Councillor welcomes upgrade of former garage site

A councillor has welcomed a planning appeal decision to grant permission to a mixed development of apartments and office space in Kirkham.
Fylde Borough Council's ruling means the derelict site of the former Texaco Garage will be brought back to life.
Councillor for the area, Simon Renwick, said: "I am delighted that this has been won on appeal, there may be concerns about the traffic but the developer will have to work round that.
"The area has been an eyesore for many years now and this development offers an opportunity.
"I think the mixed use will be good, jobs for some and homes for others."
