A new £4m business park is set to give Bispham a welcome jobs boost.

A ground-breaking ceremony will take place at the new Kincraig Business Park on Friday when Joan Humble, MP for Blackpool North, will dig in and do the honours on behalf of developers Icare Land Development.

The developers claim that the three-acre park on Kincraig Road will bring quality business investments into North Blackpool.

The site will house up to 15 companies helping to create around 200 jobs in some 50,000sq ft of modern space, with 100 car parking spaces.

Mrs Humble said: "I am very pleased to start the work at this business park particularly as this brings much needed investment to North Blackpool.

"Land is in short supply and this exciting project will provide business units for expansion, creating around 200 jobs."

Stephen Emmanuel of Icare said: "This development site has been planned for three years and we have been carefully incorporating building design features that will meet the needs of the high growth quality companies.

"The site is next to and complements Blackpool Technology Park and public transport passes by the site and its use will be encouraged by businesses."

It is understood that at least one major firm is in advanced negotiations to take up 25 per cent of the park's capacity, although the developers will not disclose their name until things are finalised.

An adjoining ecological area to the site includes a pond and 0.7 acres set aside purely for wildlife and this area will be managed by Icare.
