A service to remember three Blackpool police officers who died 25 years ago in a doomed sea rescue is to be held this weekend.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5 to remember PC Angela Bradley, 23, PC Gordon Alexander Connolly, 24 and PC Colin Morrison, who all died on January 5, 1983, in the sea close to Gynn Square.
They drowned while attempting to rescue Alistair Anthony, a visitor from Scotland who also died in the incident.
Current and former officers and members of the public are expected to attend the short service in order to pay their respects to the gallantry of the three officers.
It will take place on the Queens Promenade, Gynn Square, Blackpool, at 11am.
