BBC TV Northwest Tonight chief reporter Dave Guest has been named as this year's host at the Lancashire and Blackpool Tourism Awards which take place on Wednesday, June 20, at De Vere Heritage Herons' Reach Hotel, Blackpool.

Forty two finalists are competing across 12 categories in this year's awards with the winners going through to England's Northwest Tourism Awards in October organised by the Northwest Regional Development Agency.

Dave started work in local papers in the north west before turning his hand to freelance work for a number of national newspapers in Manchester.

He joined the BBC in 1983 and has undertaken various roles including producing and editing North West Tonight. In 2006 he was appointed chief reporter.

On stage at the awards ceremony, Dave will be interviewing Lancashire's two gold winners from the recent Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2007 Stanley House Hotel at Mellor and Number One bed and breakfast from Blackpool.
