A PIONEERING community archive service is on the lookout for more volunteers from all over East Lancashire to help bring Blackburn’s history alive.

The online Cotton Town website was relaunched on October 1 to enable more information to be stored and shared with the public.

The archive, which was launched in 2001 with £200,000 funding from the Big Lottery Fund, was recreated after the website began to fail to cope with increased popularity.

Now operating a faster site, staff want more helpers to send in photographs and ideas for articles and other ways to improve the content.

Call Mary Painter on 01254 661221.
