THE Crown Prosecution Service has issued an update on its investigation into Lancashire Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw’s expenses.

Mr Grunshaw was last week suspended from the Labour Party as the CPS launched an investigation into his expenses claims.

It will focus on expenses claims for travel made by Mr Grunshaw while he was a Labour county councillor and police authority member before his election in November.

A CPS spokesman said: “The CPS is not yet in a position to consider whether criminal charges should be brought in relation to the allegations against Mr Grunshaw.

“We await the full file of evidence from them before a review of the case can be carried out.

“Only once all the relevant evidence is passed to us we will be able to consider if charges should be brought.”
