A PILOT project to help carers access more services is set to be rolled out across Lancashire.
Work has been ongoing in North and Central Lancashire, which has seen carers’ needs assessed by carers’ centres, instead of county council social workers.
In a study for the county council, it has been recognised that carers are increasingly satisified with this approach, and may feel more comfortable ‘telling their story’ to carers’ centre staff.
This has led to proposals for the system being ‘rolled out’ across the county, including East Lancashire, before the end of October.
