LANCASHIRE Care NHS Foundation Trust has been commended for its dementia services, and the care provided to people experiencing a first episode of psychosis.

The Advancing Quality Alliance (AQuA) report found that Lancashire Care exceeded national compliance measures.

Dr Warren Larkin, clinical director of children and families network, and Dr Amanda Thornton, clinical director for adult community services, said: “The findings of the recent report pay tribute to the great work that is going on throughout the Trust’s psychosis and dementia services to provide the best care possible to the people that we serve.

“On behalf of the Trust we would like to say how delighted we are that we have exceeded expectations over the course of 2011/12.

“In addition to this achievement, the Trust has already surpassed the targets set for the first quarter of 2012/13, which is just outstanding.

“The results are not just performance figures, but reflect the on-going dedication of our staff to providing compassionate care across all of our services, and our shared aspiration to achieve excellent standards.”
