A Lancashire author's first book is set to be launched in Blackpool next week.
The Palace of Strange Girls, written by Sallie Day, is set in Blackpool in 1959 and follows a busy family holiday with the Singleton family.
Sallie, who is realising her first book in her 50s, only began writing when her children left home, and The Palace of Strange Girls was written in a small flat overlooking a Hindu temple.
Sallie will launch the book at Blackpool Central Library, on Queen Street, on Thursday, at 7.30pm.
She will read an extract from her book to the audience and will answer questions.
The event is open to all.
