Residents should decide Poulton health centre site

I too agree with Helga Whitehead's comments about the proposed Poulton health centre location (Citizen, September 11).

The obvious financial gain for the council in granting this proposal, should not be allowed to sway the decision.

The park should be retained, in its entirety for the benefit of local residents.

The building of such a centre in this location would surely clash with the surrounding properties, in what is, after all, a conservation area and supposedly protected from development by the same council members!

We all pay a portion of our council tax to fund a conservation officer. If our area is not to be protected, why is this officer employed? It is an absolute joke that such a scheme is even being considered!

There are numerous brown field sites in close proximity to Poulton centre that would be ideally suited. Surely the decision on such proposals should be made with local residents in mind rather than by a group of councillors who don't live in Poulton anyway.

I am quite sure that most people living in Poulton would not be in favour of this scheme and councillors need to realise this and act accordingly!
