Sincerely Sauvignon Blanc 2007
2:57pm Wednesday 23rd April 2008
At first glance the name could be mistaken for Sancerre since winemaker Neil Ellis has used the same typeface commonly seen on French bottles.

Tittarelli Malbec Bonarda 2005
2:56pm Wednesday 23rd April 2008
Thanks to their own economic woes there are some real bargains to be found in wine from Argentina and this red is a good example.

Jacob's Creek Three Vines 2006
9:18am Tuesday 15th April 2008
Some wine critics seem to think it's beneath them to mention the name of Britain's and one of the world's biggest selling brands.

Gavi 2007
9:17am Tuesday 15th April 2008
Gavi is a really refreshing but often overlooked dry white from the Piedmont region in the north west of Italy north of Genoa and near the French border.

Railroad Red 2005
4:21pm Saturday 1st March 2008
Graham Beck produces some lovely, reasonably-priced wines in South Africa's Western Cape and this mix of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon is no let down either.

Fairhills Chenin Torrontes 2007
4:21pm Saturday 1st March 2008
Torrontes is Spanish grape which mixes well and Chenin was originally a French grape with the same characteristics.

Marques de la Concordia Rioja 2005
3:14pm Saturday 9th February 2008
Rioja comes in many guises and varies enormously in taste and quality but here's a very smooth reason why it is the red everyone associates with Spain.

McGuigan Black Label Sauvignon Blanc 2007
3:13pm Saturday 9th February 2008
Another example of how the Aussies are trying to catch up with their Kiwi cousins by getting into the dry white market.

Nepenthe Tryst Sauvignon Blanc 2007
1:18pm Saturday 2nd February 2008
This is a dry white of the type associated more with the colder, mountainous climes of New Zealand or Chile.

McGuigan Black Label Shiraz 2006
1:18pm Saturday 2nd February 2008
McGuigan is one of the big, well-known, mass-market brand names in the Aussie wine world and not without good reason.

South African Pinotage 2005
3:41pm Monday 28th January 2008
Own brands vary in quality and value but Morrisons do seem to have achieved consistency.

Duo Mythique Syrah Grenache Rose 2006
3:41pm Monday 28th January 2008
Not a white but a Rose this week, the partner of last week's red.

Duo Mythique Syrah Grenache 2006
12:12pm Saturday 19th January 2008
As prices rise relentlessly there are fewer and fewer drinkable wines available for less than a fiver, and that's why this red is a definite delight.

Sacred Hill Sauvignon Blanc 2007
12:11pm Saturday 19th January 2008
Sacred Hill is a family-own winery established 22 years ago in what has during that time become the home of the world's best, and most affordable, Sauvignon Blanc wines - New Zealand's Marlborough region.

Cachet Shiraz-Cabernet 2006
12:57pm Saturday 12th January 2008
Another brand but this time from the innovative Pays d'Oc region of Southern France and the Castel family, who have been making wine for more than 50 years.

Storks Tower Tempranillo Shiraz Rosado 2006
12:56pm Saturday 12th January 2008
Storks Tower is unusual in being a brand of three wines blended across two estates in Spain's Duero valley.

Chateau Barreyres 2004 Haut Medoc
5:26pm Saturday 5th January 2008
You may have been feasting on rich New World Shiraz and Merlot for the last few weeks so here's a tasty example of a traditional Bordeaux red with a good pedigree which will be a real change.

Codorniu Reserva Raventos
5:25pm Saturday 5th January 2008
If you've acquired a taste for fizz over the festive period but don't feel you can afford to pay around £20 for Champagne, don't despair.

San Angelo Pinot Grigio 2006
1:13pm Monday 31st December 2007
I'm not a great fan of Pinot Grigio especially the stuff from its natural habitat in the North East of Italy because too often it is boringly bland and one dimensional.

Gilbert Alquier Faugeres 2004
1:12pm Monday 31st December 2007
Faugeres is an up and coming appelation in southern France's Languedoc region in the foothills of the rural Cevannes and Mr Alquier and his son are probably the area's best producers.

Yali Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
1:50pm Saturday 22nd December 2007
You do have to buy a minimum of 12 bottles at Majestic (of as many different wines as you like) but at this time of year is that a problem?

Kendermanns Beerenauslese 2005
1:49pm Saturday 22nd December 2007
This is the time of year when we can sit back and enjoy the luxury of a good pudding wine with all those rich desserts we're tucking into.

Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2007
4:07pm Wednesday 19th December 2007
There are lots of Sauvignon Blancs but there is only one Cloudy Bay - and there's a reason for that.

Syrah des Garriques 2005
4:06pm Wednesday 19th December 2007
Well, it is Christmas and here's the first of two wines that break through normal price barriers - but are more than a bit special.
