CROWDS are expected to descend on Hughenden Manor when the National Trust opens its gates for this year's Regional Open Day.

Trust spokesman Anna Penning-Rowsell said it will be a wonderful opportunity for people to discover the untouched beauty on their own doorstep.

Visitors can explore the Manor's historic buildings and surrounding countryside and can take part in talks and crafts while learning about the National Trust's work.

Ms Penning-Rowsell said: "A lot of people in Wycombe don't realise the wealth of its history. There will be a hive of activities to enjoy where people can learn about everything from our latest archaeological finds to the life of Benjamin Disraeli, and all for free."

All are invited to join the fun at Hughenden Manor, Great Missenden Road, on Sunday, September 9, between 11am and 4pm.
