I SUSPECT that all the jokes have already been made about the ironic nature of the title of the Beeb's new Saturday night have your say' spectacular.
Certainly, seeing that Graham Norton comes to it fresh from the tribute act debacle of The One And Only, this new show's moniker - I'll Do Anything - is fairly apparent.
Clearly believing that not only do you not look a gift horse in the mouth, you flog it to within an inch of its life and run it into the ground, the BBC has once again decreed that for the next 11 weeks, our prime time viewing will comprise a bunch of West End wannabes competing for a place in a show.
But forget X-Factor, by looking for three precocious talents to share the role of Oliver, we been introduced to the Aah factor.
Thankfully the public does not get to vote on these young contestants, it could scar them for life if their talents' did get that kind of thumbs up or thumbs down.
No, that job rests with Sir Andrew Lloyd-Webber, who is no Simon Cowell but does try hard.
Where we come in is to choose a Nancy (I'll pause for you to make your own jokes up here).
But - and this is my real problem with I'd Do Anything - do we really care?
At least in choosing Joseph and Maria it was for the major role in a major musical
