THE VACCINES - Come Of Age

ABSOLUTELY awesome from start to finish.

That’s my considered verdict on the second album by all-conquering post-punk revivalists The Vaccines.

Opening with the ridiculously good single No Hope, the CD goes from strength to strength, and sees the band filling out the sound of their debut with more guitar riffs and even catchier melodies.

Tracks like the Joe Meek-esque All In Vain and bass-heavy Ghost Town are instant classics.

PERFUME GENIUS - Put Your Back N 2 It

THIS elegant and atmospheric album by Seattle native Mike Hadreas has been re-released to coincide with a UK tour with Grizzly Bear.

And it is a work of art, with sparse instrumentation allowing the songs to breath.

Take Me Home is almost too beautiful, while the loving lyric to Sister Song could break your heart.

AVALANCHE CITY - Our New Life Above The Ground

IMAGINE a cross between The Script and Jack Johnson and you would be pretty close to the sound of Avalanche City.

There are also echoes of The Boy Least Likely To on this thoroughly entertaining record, which will appeal to many a pop fan the world over.

Songs like the single Love Love Love are as evocative of summer as the sight of a sandcastle on a sun-drenched beach.
