EVER fancied having a bit of ‘work’ done? Maybe breast enlargement, liposuction or a facelift?

After watching Channel 4 documentary The Ugly Face of Beauty you might think again.

The second in a four-part series presented by Dr Christian Jesson saw his team investigate tummy tucks and breast enlargements, two of the most sought-after procedures.

Mother-of-two Kelly told of her terrifying ordeal when a tummy tuck and liposuction performed in Germany left her with a life-threatening infection that came close to killing her. Meanwhile Dr Jesson showed a group of impressionable teenagers at a London secondary school the gruesome reality of a tummy tuck gone wrong — enough to put anyone off their dinner.

And if that wasn’t enough, he then went to meet Nanette, who suffered at the hands of a Belgian surgeon who botched her breast enlargement.

The doctor tracked down the man responsible to get some answers for Nanette.

Over in Spain, journalist Polly Hudson met Hayley, who travelled to a clinic to have her second breast enlargement. With her husband by her side, Hayley was very relaxed about the surgery — so relaxed, in fact, she decided to have her nipples removed and recreated too.

Not exactly easy to watch television but compelling all the same.
